Welcome to the City of Palm Desert Community Relations Page!

Community Relations is your dedicated team at the City of Palm Desert, committed to fostering communication, outreach, and engagement opportunities. Our mission is to build strong relationships and trust within our community through proactive and transparent communication.

We hold dozens of community meetings each year, visit merchants door-to-door, and coordinate various educational programs for residents, business owners, HOA communities, and those employed or attending school in the city. Your participation is crucial, and we are here to listen, inform, and engage with you every step of the way.

Palm Desert Civic Academy

Palm Desert’s Civic Academy is a free and interactive way for community members to get first-hand knowledge on our city government's many civic processes and daily functions.

This dynamic multi-week program will give an insider's view of the City and its functions through hands-on demonstrations, presentations, and tours.

The Academy will give participants the opportunity to grow in their leadership skills, analyze issues using data, connect with decision-makers, and learn how they can make a difference in our community.

For more information and to apply for the Civic Academy, please click here. If you have questions about this program, email Ryland Penta, Community Relations Supervisor, at rpenta@palmdesert.gov.

Palm Desert Discussions: Learn, Engage, Connect

The City of Palm Desert is proud to present the "Palm Desert Discussions," an educational and interactive lecture series designed to inform and engage our community on important local topics.

Held six times a year, every other month, this series provides residents with the opportunity to hear directly from our community partners and partner agencies. Through these insightful discussions, attendees will gain a clearer understanding of the distinct roles and responsibilities of the City and its collaborators, fostering a more informed and connected community.

Join us as we explore crucial subjects such as water usage, disaster preparedness, and more, empowering our citizens with the knowledge to thrive in Palm Desert.
