Much of the credit for Palm Desert's warm, inviting character belongs to our involved citizenry, many of whom generously serve as volunteers.

More than 100 residents serve on Palm Desert’s 16 standing committees and commissions, and represent the community through appointments to outside organizations such as The Joslyn Center.

Another 125 or so dedicated citizens volunteer on the City's behalf with programs such as Palm Desert Citizens on Patrol, at municipal facilities such as the Palm Desert Public Library.

These City volunteers represent just a small fraction of the countless Palm Desert residents and members of the local business community who selflessly give of their time as volunteers to work on behalf of local charities and nonprofits. The City deeply appreciates and gratefully recognizes the service of all of these volunteers for their generosity, hard work, and dedication to our community.
