The Palm Desert Permit Center, a division of the Development Services Department, is an efficient and convenient one-stop shop for residential and commercial permit needs.
Permit Center staff are dedicated to providing high levels of expedient customer service to every architect, engineer, developer, contractor, business, and property owner that resides or works within our community. Permit applications for Building & Safety, Planning, Land Development, and Public Works all begin intake at the Permit Center.
City services continue to be offered by phone, email, or online. If you prefer to continue to do business remotely with the Permit Center, we encourage you to do so by calling (760) 776-6435 or sending us an email. Please note that while the City is open for in-person business, digital submittals are more efficient and expeditious.
Hours of Operation
Palm Desert City Hall is pleased to welcome people who wish to conduct business in person with City staff. City Hall is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Payments will be accepted until 4:30 p.m.

The City of Palm Desert uses eTRAKiT. eTRAKiT is an online permitting portal that allows you to apply for a permit, pay permitting fees, submit corrections, check the status of a permit, download approved plans, and schedule inspections.
The following permit applications are express permits which you can apply, pay for, and receive the permit the same day.

An eTRAKiT account is required to apply for a permit, pay permitting fees, submit corrections, check the status of a permit, download approved plans, and schedule inspections. If you do not have an eTRAKiT account, please CLICK HERE for instructions on how to request an account. If you are applying for a permit that is not submitted through eTRAKiT (listed above), you must upload a completed application and drawings to the permit submission portal using the “Submit a Permit Application” button below.
