Business Licenses are required of all persons or corporations conducting business within the City of Palm Desert. Customers seeking to obtain a new business license or to renew an expired or expiring business license may apply through our Business License Center online, call (442) 325-3954 or email palmdesert@hdlgov.com.

El Paseo Assessment Fee Schedule
El Paseo Assessment Fees are levied on business establishments with addresses 73-040 through 73-999 El Paseo and adjoining streets located 180 feet south of El Paseo and 154 feet north of El Paseo per Section 3.40.010 of the Palm Desert Municipal Code. El Paseo Assessment Fees are in addition to your business license fee. Please select the category appropriate for your business.

Renewals
Timely renewal of your business license is crucial to prevent incurring penalty fines. Renewals submitted after the expiration date will result in the imposition of the following penalties:
- A 10% fine will be applied on the tenth day following the expiration date.
- A 25% fine will be levied on the first day of the subsequent month.
- A 50% fine will be enforced on the first day of the third month.
Contractors
If you are a contractor, please make sure to have your contractor’s license number. With the passage of SB205 that became effective January 1, 2020, you will need to supply your Standard Industrial Classification Code (SIC).
Landscape Certificate
City Ordinance requires that landscapers complete two online training programs to renew their business license.
Training can be taken anytime online at College of the Desert, or in-person at College of the Desert's PaCE office located in The Shops at Palm Desert during office hours Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
